RED VELVET MOJO
Red Velvet Mojo was formed after I heard (and was blown away by) Brian Futch's original music on an indie music website I was once very active on. I checked his bio, and discovered that he lived in my neighborhood. Small world.
We started jamming at my house, and soon decided that we needed to find some other like minded, similarly aged players who wanted to get a little more serious before we were too old to carry our own gear...(we might be too late).
Brian asked his friend and fellow parishoner, Phil Miller, if he'd like to get together and he agreed...thankfully. Phil is an excellent musician and a nice guy to boot.
Brian then contacted his cousin, Todd, and he hooked up to complete the middle-aged ensemble. Todd plays rhythm guitar, and sings lead and harmony when we can get the mic to reach that low to the ground.
I play at drums, and do what I can to keep time without dropping my sticks or hurting anyone too badly.
Currently, we're putting together a set list consisting of several of Brian's original tracks as well as some blues, contemporary and classic rock.
The immediate plans are to record a live demo for the purpose of introducing ourselves to local prospective gigs, and hopefully earn enough to buy some picks, strings and drum heads
Band Members
Brian Futch - Lead guitar / vocals
Phil Miller - Bass, harp, vocals
Todd Bennett - Guitar, vocals
Rylie Bishop - Drums
If you fancy listening to some of this great music, then head on over to they're myspace page, as they have two great songs posted on there, "Save The World" and "Funeral For Myself" I really like these songs, beautiful guitar work on the first track, and it's pretty good on the other track as well, go on over and give them a listen,
